Ordering Belgian Chocolates Online
If you’re not in Belgian and want to order Belgian chocolate or you want to ship Belgian chocolate to a friend outside of Belgian, here is a list of online options.
Artisan Chocolatiers
Several artisan (handmade) chocolate shops ship directly to the US. These shops make the chocolate in their kitchens and then ship the chocolates fresh to the US. Delivery is said to be within a week.
- Le Chocolatier Manon
Web Site: http://www.chocolatiermanon.com
Online Ordering: http://www.chocolatiermanon.com/order.htm
Comment: Their online offerings are limited, but you can’t get more traditional Manon chocolates. For me it was love at first bite at Manon’s.
- Mary Chocolatier
Web Site: http://www.marychoc.com/en/
Online Ordering: https://secure.iwebhost.be/marychoc2/shopping.php
Comment: They just opened a new factory and will be expanding their online ordering operation. Mary’s logo always reminds me of Mary Washington. And why not, Marie Delluc founded Mary Chocolaterie in 1919 making her the first lady of Belgian chocolates
Commercial Chocolatiers
Many of the large commercial chocolate houses offer online shopping worldwide.
- Neuhaus
Online Store http://www.neuhaus-online-store.com/index_en.htm
Comment: They have a well designed online store that ships to the following countried: Australian, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lechtenstein, Luthuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, South-Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, and United States. A nice feature of this site is that you can make your purchase in your preferred currency.
I originally started Writing with Chocolate in 2008 to blog about Belgian chocolate while living in Brussels. You can read my reviews of artisan chocolate shops in Brussels and check out my chocolate-themed walking tours by clicking on the "Belgian Chocolate Resources" button on the top navigation bar.
Now that I’m back home in Alexandria, Virginia, I have a new focus that brings together all that I learned in Brussels. As the saying goes, build the web site you want. In late 2012 I revamped Writing with Chocolate to address the needs and concerns of the home "do-it-yourself-er" chocolatier like me.
Cheers and chocolate,
