First Walking Tour Up

This week I coordinated my first group walking tour of two artisan (handmade) chocolate shops in my neighborhood: Rendez-Vous Chocolat and Passion Chocolat. At both shops the owners met with the group and gave wonderful presentations. Everyone was able to taste several chocolates and learn what makes Belgian chocolate special.

This beta tour gave me the push I needed to write up itineraries for self-guided chocolate shop walking tours.  I now have one tour written and posted; it’s of Etterbeek, my neighborhood. The tour is still sketchy, but I’ll continue to add to it until it’s user-friendly and teaming with helpful and interesting information about Belgian chocolate, the shops, and the area. Welcome to Writing with Chocolate. This new site is home to my exploration of Belgian chocolate. On this site you will find reviews of chocolate shops, self-guided walking tours, information on classes on making and tasting chocolate, and links to resource sites. Right now I am populating the review section. I have reviews available of the following artisan (handmade shops): Passion Chocolat, Rendez-Vous Chocolat, and Lorette.  I also have a review of the Neuhaus Factory Outlet Store.  My next project is to put up self-guided walking tours of chocolate shops by neighborhood.  Stay tuned.
